World Usability Day Boston

November 8, 2018

How User-Centered is Boston? Join us to explore the usability of our great city.

What will we be doing?

Celebrate World Usability Day  by putting your UX boots on the ground and giving Boston a usability and accessibility once-over! Through this event, you will discover how our great city is designed for the good and welfare of its constituents and identify opportunities for improving the lived experience for individuals of all abilities. In this fast paced, scavenger hunt inspired event, individuals will take to the streets of Boston alongside a user/expert from the Institute for Human Centered Design. A user/expert is an individual who has developed expertise by means of their lived experience in dealing with the challenges of the environment due to a physical, sensory or cognitive functional limitation. With the help of their user/expert, groups of individuals will be challenged to find as many examples of good (or not so good) design as possible – tagging their discoveries in a web-based mapping application. At the end of the night, awards will be given to the groups with the most active participation.

Explore Boston's Usability

Explore the Waterfront district with your team, volunteers from UXPA and user experts to identify ways the city is designed to enable its citizens, and ways that it can be improved.

Upload Your Findings

Snag a picture of your observations and upload along with key information and comments to our web application. These findings will be used for analysis of the usability of Boston.

Share & Win

Come back to Brightcove to discuss our findings over refreshments. Awards will be presented to groups with the most active participation.
